Yesterday seems to last forever, I wish every Saturday lasted quite so long although not so much with the immensely rough feeling I had all day. Friday night I went out in Wigan with Carolynne to experience what apparently I’d been missing out on, although to be honest it wasn’t that much. I did however get to meet some nice people Len, Kate, “Parky” and Len’s cousin who’s name escapes me right now and had a few good drinks in the Tudor although that wasn’t for the first time. My impression of the world-famous Maximes was that of an antiquated cheap but cheerful rock club not far removed from Manchester’s Jilly’s but I don’t go there often either. At least I can say I’ve been.
After a night of twisting an turning in possibly the hardest single bed ever I managed about an hour of sleep and through dehydration the beer got the better of me which put me out of action for most of Saturday. I feel better today though and hope to get a backlog of activities done while I can. Time to get up now though and get on with it!
Hey man. I can’t believe you Jonny Harden as well. He passed me this link and asked if I was the guy mentioned. Cool.
P.S.- You’ve got to be the first person I’ve ever heard desribe Maximes as ‘cheerful’. lol.
Hi Len, Yes it is a small world! I can’t even understand how you and Jonny know each other being that he doesn’t live near Wigan at all.
I think I meant cheerful as a figure of speech, it’s certainly no national park or beach at sunset but I didn’t find the place too intimidating, the residents seemed to be far too high to care!
