Has anyone realised how surreal the Zelda universe is getting these days?
Continue if you don’t mind spoilers…
The other day I bought Twilight Princess for my new Wii and after having been stuck on the first fishing challenge early in the game for over a day I was starting to believe Zelda had become Nintendo’s new fishing franchise like Sega managed with Bass Fishing a few years back but alas no, I finally found the crucial fishing tip which is completely undocumented and got past this frustrating block and proceeded into the Twilight World which can only be described as a paranoid drugs trip. Starting off by metamorphosing into a wolf you run around with a floating alien on your back attacking dark giant insects which come at you from all angles. Once you’ve found yourself back in “normality” you can now talk to the animals which includes some rather articulate chickens. Heading back into the woods you find a thick noxious purple haze covering the floor for many miles which makes you pass out but it’s OK, the monkeys are here to help!
I realise that the fantasy genre is supposed to include some things you’d typically not find on the weekly shopping trip but Zelda seems to have become a good weekend in Vegas, either way though I’ve had the game 2 days and I’ve racked up 7 hours of play time which is a lot for me so that says something but I think it was the heated hours of fishing time that got me, the lure fishing later in the game is supposed to be much better and you are advised to take a break from the game to catch some good trout which has to be interesting, shame I’ve only salmon in the freezer…
These are the kind of things my dreams are made of…
Ive just nothced the 45 hour mark on Zelda. Near completing it. It just gets trippier. Be warned
